RAKGAS Announces Award FEED Study To China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Corporation
Abu Dhabi, October 6, 2023
RAKGAS announces the signing of a Letter of Award with China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Corporation (CPPE) at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi to build a new multistage pipeline of circa 140 kms, upgrading the existing midstream gas infrastructure which will significantly increase the capacity and enhance flexibility across the Northern Emirates.
As part of this development, CPPE will conduct a comprehensive FrontEnd Engineering and Design (FEED) study. The new pipeline will connect from the existing Taweelah Fujairah Pipeline to Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), with a connection to the Sajaa gas storage in Sharjah.
The FEED study will develop the work scope for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) tender.
RAKGAS CEO, Chris Wood stated, “This intended collaboration is a significant step forward in our commitment to debottleneck the existing capacity constraints, facilitate growth and provide energy security for the Northern Emirates. It is one of our strategic projects and stands as a testament to our ongoing efforts to energise communities.”
With a dedicated approach to ensuring a sustainable gas supply, RAKGAS is aligning with the growing energy requirements of the region whilst enhancing its energy portfolio.
