Natural Gas is a gas consisting predominantly of methane (typically > 90%) but may also contain ethane, propane and heavier hydrocarbons. It is the cleanest of the fossil fuels. The combustion of natural gas releases very small amounts of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, virtually no ashes or particulate matter and lower levels of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other reactive hydrocarbons.

QUALITY OF GAS: SPECIFICATIONS
Gas supplied to seller shall conform to the specification listed here-under
Shall have a Gross Heating Value of not less than nine hundred and fifty (950) BTU per Standard Cubic Foot and not greater than one thousand one hundred and fifty (1150) BTU per Standard Cubic Foot.
Shall not contain more than one (1.0) grain of hydrogen sulphide or more than ten (10) grains of total sulphur, per one hundred (100) Standard Cubic Feet of Gas.
Shall not contain more than five percent carbon dioxide (5% CO2) on a molar basis.
Shall not contain more than five percentage nitrogen (5% N2) on a molar basis.
Shall not have a Net Heating Value less than 89% of Gross Heating Value.
Shall have a Modified Wobbe Index of not less than forty (40) and not greater than fifty four (54), based on a nominal fuel gas supply Temp of 520AoR (60AoF).
